Wow what a couple of weeks. It seems like I have been going a mile a minute, I’m sure you are feeling my pain. I hope you got to make it to back to school night. They are really proud of their writing and work around being a courageous problem solver. We have really nailed the courageous part in the first few weeks of school. We are in touch with the idea that sometimes doing what is right takes courage. Throughout the rest of the year we will be working to tie it to problem solving, then how we can use our skills as a problem solver to help our communities.
I hope you have signed up for conferences. I had a record 26 families sign up last night! If you forget when you signed up go to the forms page and you will find the schedule posted. If you have not signed up yet please look at the schedule and email me with the time you want.
We had a BEAUTIFUL day for our Creative Arts Run. We could not have asked for better weather. Look for your pledge sheets coming home on Monday (I did not quite get them handed back out today).
We started Passport club this week (I got all 5 levels in case you were keeping track). It was really fun. The parents who run the passport club are amazing and we always have a great time when we go. They will soon receive a map for testing on the last Monday of October. They can study if they want to get all 5 levels or if they are not all that interested in it, they can just come and learn the 1st level that day. No pressure and Char always has a really cool cultural project. As soon as we get the October maps I will post it in case you loose your map. Have a great weekend!

Nuts and Bolts
We had a great first week! It’s amazing how fast they get into the swing of things. Just some things that you might want to know as the year get started, if there are things I’m not thinking of please let me know and I will tell about those as well.
1.)Our specials schedule (ok it gets a little crazy with A and B schedules because there is an extra art or an extra PE on any given week, I am not going to go into that fine of detail for you just know we either have 2 PE’s and 1 art or 2 arts and 1 PE, depending on the week.)
Monday – PE
Tuesday- PE and Art
Wednesday – Art
Thursday – Library (check out day)
Friday – Library
Matt and I will also be trading classes on Fridays. He is teaching science and I am teaching technology. So both classes will get 1 session of science and one session of tech every Friday.
2.) Thanks so much to those of you who handed in your paperwork. If you haven’t gotten it in yet please do it ASAP.
3. We will be starting up our invention center next week. Please send in your recyclables so we may make them new.
Homework will start next week so ask your kiddo if they have a Monday due date. It will come up fast.
