Important info and websites
Hello All,
Welcome to 3rd grade. I am super excited to start a new school year. This is my website. I post info and newsletters here. Each time I post something you will get an email reminder that there is a post waiting for you to read. I will do my best to be as quick as possible. I know you are busy so I will try to make it a two minute read. You also can refer back to these posts at anytime.
You can comment on these posts and it is a direct link to me. I will receive a notification and I can answer you. So if you have general questions feel free to post them here. I am sure other people will be thinking the same things. Also feel free to request updates on specific classroom stuff. So much goes on on here, and since I want to be brief, I sometimes have trouble deciding what to include. If you are wondering about something please request an update and I will include it.
Two other websites to be aware of.
1. My other website, which is not all that exciting to be honest. It is simply a website where kids go to click on tech assignments. There will be left over stuff from last year on there. We will not get started in the lab until at least October.
2. Mrs. Kleiner has set up a library website she also has a message for you that I have posted here.
If you have not yet handed in your $25 for supplies or your back to school paper work please do so next Tuesday.

A message from our lovely librarian
A message about Third Grade Library…
Welcome to 3rd grade at Creative Science School! Below you will find useful information regarding the CSS library.
Allison’s class will visit the library on Tuesday mornings from 9:40-10:25. Students can check out two books at a time. They can keep their books for two weeks and items can be renewed. Third graders will check out for the first time this school year during their first library class.
There is a CSS library website that you can visit for all kinds of information on events, hours and checkout procedures, what students are learning in library, Oregon Battle of the Books, and much more. I just created this summer so it is still a work in progress, but it contains a lot of information that you will find useful. Something I plan on adding as we move through the year are pictures of what students are doing when they come to the library. Please check out the site and save the URL for future reference.
If you are looking for volunteer opportunities, look no further than the library. I will need help with a variety of Book Fair tasks, OBOB, and shelving books. Please send me an email requesting further information if you are interested in volunteering.
My hope is that your child is excited to come to the library each week, and that their love of literature and thirst for knowledge grows because of their experiences here. If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me at mkleiner@pps.net or call me at 503-916-6431.
I look forward to working and learning with your student!
Sincerely,
Maria Kleiner
